Online Zoom meeting

Sharing our fiber arts online is more important than ever these days when so many of us are turning to technology as a safe way to stay connected and market our work. Laura Leipzig will provide an overview of social media today and how digital platforms are used by creative folks to share their work, find community, and reach a wider audience. Her focus is Instagram because this easy to use, image-based platform is wildly used and is changing the way creative work is shared and marketed worldwide.

This lecture is for those totally new to Instagram, as well as those looking to become more acquainted with the app’s features and how they can be applied to sharing or marketing creative work. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A section.

Laura Leipzig joined RGFA in July of 2020 and has just begun to dive into the world of weaving and fiber arts. She is a passionate advocate for local art and art education. Her professional experience has included the position of Education & Program Manager at the Museum of Sonoma County, Gallery Manager at the Arts Guild of Sonoma, owning her own small custom framing business, and managing an Aaron Brothers Art and Framing store. Laura holds a degree in Studio Art with a Minor in Dance from Sonoma State University, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from San Francisco State University’s College of Extended Education.
