Fiber preparation and drafting technique leave their indelible imprint on your yarn. Learn what to expect from carded and combed materials and experience how different drafting techniques affect yarn appearance and behavior.

The first day of this class focuses on woolen yarn production including carded and cloud preparation followed by demonstration and hands-on experience of woolen draft and spinning. The second day spends less time prepping using commercial combed tops and focusing on the worsted draft and development of the quality of luster. Class concludes with comparison of the two different systems and their effect on yarn.
