Brittany Stanton – October 2025

Brittany is a lifelong textile enthusiast and project addict, always juggling multiple creative endeavors in her studio. She began weaving baskets and exploring fiber arts at age ten and has been passionate about making crafting accessible ever since. From cleaning wool by hand and spinning yarn to designing wedding dresses and teaching basket weaving, Brittany lives and breathes textiles. Join Brittany for an engaging hour exploring the art of basketry and her journey as a basket weaver. This presentation will touch on the fundamentals of basket making, the diverse materials and techniques involved, and the joys and challenges of creative practice. Brittany will share insights on the benefits of maintaining a daily creative habit, the value of embracing the process over the end product, and how sharing your work online can foster growth and community. Brittany will be conducting a workshop on Tuesday 30th September (the day before the guild meeting)
