Taking Our Fiber Art Beyond Where We’ve Been

This lecture will be focused on thinking, going and working beyond what we usually do with our fiber art work, to expand our creative ideas and outcomes. This includes exploring and discovering new ways to work with fibers, which create exciting new processes and outcomes. Vicki will share photos of her work to demonstrate how she applies these practices during the creative process.
Workshop on April 5, 2023, from 1 PM – 3 PM Pacific (After the guild meeting):
Creating Three-dimensional Art
Luther Burbank Art & Garden Center
You’ll learn to create wonderful, stuffed and decorated 3-D fiber elements to add to your weavings, fiber collages, baskets, and any other fiber art pieces you may be working on. (These pieces can also stand alone as their own art creations).
Materials List:
- Fabric – bring a fun assortment, any type and size
- Needle
- Thread
- Fabric Scissors
- Stuffing
- String and/or yarn
- Optional embellishments (beads, shells, buttons, jewelry parts, lace, etc.)
Class size: Minimum of 10, Maximum of 20 students
Ability level: All levels welcome.
Workshop fee: $25 (members) or $60 (non-members)
Cancellation Policy: Refunds will only be made for cancellations if the remaining registration exceeds the minimum participant requirement for the workshop. Refunds will not be made for workshop costs already incurred at the time of cancellation (such as materials fees).
