Janet Phillips – March 2026

On leaving school, Janet went to the Scottish College of Textiles, where she was trained to design fabrics that would be woven into thousands of yards, in the Tweed mills in the Scottish borders.

However, she ended up moving to London, miles away from textile mills, so she bought a 16-shaft Dobby loom, and began a business as a craft weaver.  Designing and weaving all sort of fabrics for private clients.

This talk will illustrate the way Janet approach the skill of Designing Woven Fabrics.
